The Grounds and the Gallery of Woodwalk
Woodwalk Gallery offers a wonderful "close to nature" experience that can last 1 to 3 hours and cost nothing.... you can view the works of 45 artists including the large scale, ethereal Door County landscapes of Margaret Lockwood. You can walk the winding sculpture path or wind your way through the labyrinth- someone counted 388 steps each way to the center bench and back. Kids can hopscotch it or go exploring to find the 20 foot high teepee at the corner of the property. And, new this summer, SiloSpace offers a six foot drumming experience for one or many.
Inside the 1890's era renovated barn/ gallery in the late afternoon you can enjoy the sun dial effect of the west wall, have a glass of complementary ice tea and tour Margaret's straw bale construction studio.

Art and Music Jams at Gallery 42
2009 marks the third season that Gallery 42 has been bringing a new look to the Door County art scene. “FRESH ART” best describes the bright, contemporary and often humorous paintings by graphic designer/illustrator Tim Nyberg. Tim is also a humor author (best known for The Duct Tape Book series) and an entertainer.
Speaking of entertaining... a popular free event in Door County are Gallery 42’s Saturday afternoon Art and Music Jams (from 2p to 4p). Tim brings in a variety of musicians throughout the season and paints to the live music (see the web site for upcoming events).
"It's like a dance. I paint the moods, colors and textures that I hear in the music and often the musicians improv to what they see me painting. It's all spontaneous, surprising, and rewarding." says Nyberg.
In the casual setting of the gallery, observers are often asked to throw out ideas to the musicians and artist. Many have walked out with an original painting that they watched being created. There’s always complimentary wine and coffee available. And the events are always free.
Gallery 42 features FRESH ART for home and office, original greeting cards, books, prints and artfully unique gift items. The gallery shop is located on Highway 42 at Juddville Road - right across from the blue schoolhouse - between Egg Harbor and Fish Creek. Demonstrations by Scrimshanders artist Gary Kiracofe. Fridays from 2-5PM, located in North Ephraim on Hwy 42, Scrimshaw is the art of engraving on ivory or bone.
The Gardens of Green Gables

Free tours of the Gardens at Green Gables by mster gardener Peter Buergin-Witt every Wednesday at 11AM, located in North Ephraim on Hwy 42. The gardens are home to a variety of shops and a great cafe. However, the beautiful perennial gardens, created and lovingly tended by Peter Buergin-Witt, have become the “billboard” for this unique shopping complex.
During one season, hundreds of people stop to stroll, photograph or just enjoy the delightful sights and smells of “Peter’s Gardens”. Peter graciously gives of his time and knowledge (which reaches far beyond gardening) to lead FREE tours of the gardens every Wednesday at 11:00 am. These tours have become a “Door County Must Stop” for both amateur and master gardeners alike.
